Creative development for a new age of the web
Hello! My name is Dean. I am a current Game Design and Development student at Rochester Institute of Technology whose favorite pastime is breaking things down to molecules to see how they work, and reassembling those molecules into fascinating new ideas to see if they'd work. I take great enjoyment from tinkering and experimenting, and my goal is to create interactive experiences which push the edges of what one may consider a "game," whether that be a highly experimental and thought-provoking experience or a simple enjoyable romp that tinkers with a concept you don't really see much elsewhere.
Here's some of my more recent projects!

DOWNPOUR

Tower Unite Trivia Study Club

QUIKKSTEP

Swap perspectives and survive the mechanical horde!
DOWNPOUR is a shoot-em-up prototype that swaps between a top-down and side-scrolling perspective between endless enemy waves. Utilizing the power of perspective, take down the endless hordes of Atlantis!
Created for my IGME 202 class, I made this entire game on my own (sans all sound elements and fonts used) utilizing Unity as the game engine and art tools such as Aseprite and MediBang! Paint Pro.

Hone your trivia skills!
The Tower Unite Trivia Study Club is a website utilizing the Open Trivia DB API to create an environment to access and attempt rounds of trivia, with the visual presentation of the database's primary usecase, Tower Unite.
Created for my IGME 235 class, I developed this website on my own utilizing the three primary web languages (HTML, CSS, JS), with extensive use of JavaScript and local data storage to streamline the experience and make it as easy to use on-demand as possible.

Quickstep around obstacles and see how long you can last!
QUIKKSTEP is a simple endless runner prototype where the player bounces back and forth between the edges of the playspace to try and dodge an endless barrage of obstacles, "quickstepping" between preset sets of y-axes while unstoppably running forwards.
Created for my IGME 235 class, I made this entire game on my own (sans all sound elements and fonts used) utilizing JavaScript and PIXI.JS as the game engine, and art tools such as Aseprite.
